Excerpt from "Watch City: Waltham Watch" by Jessica Lucci:
"The locomotive simultaneously screeched and squealed. The engine sputtered oozing tar before bursting into a fireball. The force of the blast blew the engine and coal car off the tracks, pulling the following four cars with it, before jack-knifing. The remaining cars sped on with momentum. Conserved energy pushed the front cars further until they twisted sideways like a worm dipped in vinegar. The coaches all followed suit, turning, tumbling, meeting metal and dirt and soot, and shooting stars of fire. The twilight sky was erased by spreading columns of dense smog. Tess saw a flash of sun before succumbing to a pit of nightfall."
