"If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote 'Me too.' as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem."

Following the outcry over the historic prevalence of sexual abuse in Hollywood, women marginalized by fear and shame are joining voices. Lingering silence building up in ignored waves pounds on society's shores today.
Alyssa Milano, famed for her activism as much as her acting, retweeted this quote with a slight adjustment to include ALL people who have been sexually victimized. It is not only women who are targeted and abused. It must be acknowledged though, that it is MOSTLY women who have borne the brunt of sexualized aggression. Milano seems to be answering the question: "Who's the Boss?" YOU ARE. Individually and as a community, we can accept responsibility for our transgressions, and join forces to reduce the stigma of surviving sex abuse. Together, we are stronger.
Alone in our pain
Together we are stronger
Bravely voice "me too"
